UNACCOMPANIED MINOR
The acceptance of unaccompanied minors is conditional to the rules and restrictions of the airlines involved in the transport and the legislation of each country, it being the responsibility of the embarkation point to be aware of the legal requirements of the countries from which the minor is embarking and disembarking, in order to comply with same. Unaccompanied minors shall not be accepted when stopovers and or overnight stops are involved. Interline transportation will only be permitted in cases of immediate connections, on confirmed flights; the connection must be from the same airport. *Exception: when a person is designated by those responsible for the minor to receive him at the transfer point and care for him until delivering him to the transporting carrier. Transportation should only be guaranteed after all these requirements have been met.
UNACCOMPANIED MINOR - FROM 2 TO 4 YEARS OF AGE
VARIG does not transport minors under the age of five unaccompanied. In these cases, the minor should be accompanied by a supernumerary stewardess (minimum child's age f 2, up to his 5th birthday).
Each case should be submitted for consideration by VARIG and no guarantee should be made until authorization is received from the responsible departments.
UNACCOMPANIED MINOR - BETWEEN 5 AND 11 YEARS OF AGE
Will be accepted so long as the parents or responsible parties sign the authorization for travel for the unaccompanied minor (PASS-18 form) and present the judicial authorization. This authorization will be obligatory for all minors under the age of twelve traveling unaccompanied, whether on domestic or international flights, and serves to ensure VARIG's interests. The employee responsible for the minor's care, at the airport, is responsible for the completion of the PASS-18 form.
UNACCOMPANIED MINOR - 12 TO 17 YEARS OF AGE
The authorization for travel for an unaccompanied minor (PASS 18 form) will be completed only at the request of the person responsible for the minor or when there is doubt about the abilities of the minor to travel unaccompanied.
APPLICABLE TARRIFS FOR MINORS
The applicable tariffs are percentages of whole adult fares (normal applicable tariff or special adult tariff applied on domestic/international route being flown) based upon the tariff rules.

NOTES: The age on the date of commencement of travel will determine the applicable tariff from the table above.
Unless expressly specified, the percentage of discount will be applied in the case of ticket cancellation and refund to the passenger.
