Unaccompanied minors : travel conditions
Travel conditions
Children age 4 through 11 years;
An identity paper with valid photo;
A passport or an identity card plus an authorization of leaving the French territory;
A visa if necessary.
Safety:
At departure
Unaccompanied minors must be brought to the departure airport by a parent or responsible adult who must remain at the airport until the child boards and the aircraft departs the gate. Our representatives are present to help you. They will confirm you the flight departure. At the check-in, a unaccompanied minor form must first be completed. You must provide evidence that another parent or responsible adult will meet the child at their destination. Once checked-in, your children will be given an envelope bag with all documents necessary for his travel. This bag identifies unaccompanied children to our staff on the ground and in the air.
Before boarding
Our boarding representative will introduce your child to the flight attendant and provide the flight attendant with any information pertinent to your child's flight.
At destination
Our local representative will take care about your child and release him to the proper person. To ensure that children are released to the proper person, the adult meeting the unaccompanied child at his destination must show photo identification. This adult will be present at destination on scheduled time and sign the form, the destination part.
Connecting flight
If your child travels on connecting flight, Air Austral will be responsible of him until the next check-in. Therefore, he will be released to the other airline representatives.
